“Of Winter’s Lifeless World”

This crackle pot has been hand carved and painted with underglaze before the clear crackle glaze is applied.  The post firing reduction allows smoke to penetrate the cracks and accentuate them.  The images on the pot depict various species of trees in winter.  Poetry carved into the pot reads, “Of winter’s lifeless world each tree, now seems a perfect part; Yet each one holds summer’s secret, deep down within it’s heart.”
