The workshop with David Davis was a wonderful experience! We were so fortunate to have him come speak with us and demonstrate his clay techniques for making volumetric forms. He was gracious enough to also show us how he makes his “People Pots”! Everyone in the studio took something really special away with them from this workshop. We thank you Mr. Davis! Country Squire Pottery took part in “Arts on Division” a week long celebration of the arts in downtown Somerville. After the opening in the two pop up galleries on Friday, May 13, Saturday proved to be an exciting day in Somerville. Division Street was closed to traffic and two stages were set up for continuous live music all day. A mobile “printmobile” was parked for kids to do some printmaking, there was chalk drawing in the street and Country Squire Pottery put on a raku firing demonstration all day.
